Dont feel taking antihistamines is the right way for me to travel - having several general resourcefully being problems and want to come off adjectives medications but do suffer with hives. Anyone know of an alternative to antihistamines for urticaria?
Answers: Homeopathy (200C):
Take Apis if the hives are red, burn or itch intensely. Take Natrum muriaticum for chronic hives, especially if they are white. Take Rhus toxicodendron for immensely large red hives with some itching. Take Urtica urens for hives on the scalp and other places that burn and itch intensively. Take Arsenicum album for burning hives and chilled vibrations.
Nutritional:
Taking 500 mg of quercetin twice a day helps to clear up hives and stop itching. Quercetin is found contained by onions, apples, and leafy vegetables and is a natural antihistamine.
Herbal:
Apply mint ice cubes to the skin also relieves the itching. Mix two teaspoons of crushed fresh mint leaves, pour boiling marine over the leaves, cover, and let it sit for five minutes. Strain the liquid, pour it into an rime cube tray, and freeze. Then take the cubes out, put them in a freezer purse, cover the bag with a daily towel or cloth and apply it to the hives.

Topical wash with tea made of Chickweed, Elderflowers, Mullein or Chamomile. Follow near oil of Evening Primrose (hard to find - might have to use gelcaps and pierce w/ needle).

Diet: Low fat, high fiber, dairy-free. Gluten-free diet have proved successful in some cases. Bananas help mute itching. Helpful to consume Purslane, Pumpkin seeds, Dandelion coffee. Avoid processed, fried, pastries, chocolates, sausage meats, pork, alcohol, spicy foods, artificial colors & flavors, soft drinks.
If it be me, I'd try an elimination diet. It's hard, but 10 years is a long time! Also might consider trialling to see what your worst allergies are. I know several people allergic to synthetic fabrics.
I too have hives for 10 years. I had them mostly controlled with an asthma med call Serevent and then its follow on Advair. Have heard some other family have luck with Singulair. The really angelic news is that when I went on a gluten free diet, the hives disappeared contained by 3-4 weeks and I have been gluten free, med free and hive free for almost 6 years. So going gluten free might be worth trying for you. The gluten is found contained by wheat, rye and barley and things made from them. So it isn't the easiest thing in the world to do, but for me much better than hives. Start out beside fresh fruits and veggies and nonprocessed meat. If the diet works, then you can learn how to find adjectives the substitutes.
