What percentage of dental filling are unnecessary & are deeply a greedy dentist drilling into a faultlessly?

into a perfectly good tooth?

I hold visited a few different dentists, and they all "find" a cavity within a different tooth - never the same ones. And these "cavities" are never visible, never enjoy caused a toothache, and I have never have any invisible cavity filled. Many many years following, guess what? My tooth is still perfect and didn't need a wadding. I could have had at least possible 7 more fillings than i do, but i am too smart for these fraudulent jerks who want to rape my teeth so they can buy another Porche.
You need to find a dentist you can trust. I don't believe dentists just drill into teeth w/out idea. Just because you don't have pain does not connote its not there. Typically cavities do not produce pain until they are much more severe and infecting or close to infecting the pulp of that tooth. Dentists I've worked for typically try and prevent this from happening.

If you could seize a one surface small filling done w/out any novacaine, why would you wait until it be so bad you needed a root canal?

Dentists enjoy different methods of detecting caries. They know what to look for to spot incipient caries. Some incipient caries do arrest themselves if the patient has correct enough oral hygiene. This may be why your cavity did not get any bigger and mete out you problems. Its a risk/benefit scenario. If you are willing to take the risk thats fine, but any obedient dentist is going to recommend you get it taken care of, mete out more often than not, the cavity does get worse.
As a dentist I never recommend my patients to do unnecessary fillings, there is another track to prevent future cavities, such as pit and fissure sealants.
Why some dentist find hot cavities, is because we use different kind of diagnostic methods, such as cameras, explorer and mirror, x rays, digital x streak, ultrasound machines and more. this is why some cavities are invisible to you but not to me, incipient cavities are white and saliva covers them blocking your picture, that is why we dentist use air to blow away saliva and expose your invisible cavity. I always, always minus fail, warned my ex-wife when going to the dentist "don't agree to him fill the wrong cavity" and your words bear out that that alarm was very prescient and timely.
One trick I other used, always without founder, was to settle in contained by the chair then make over and grab the crotch of the dentist (unless it was a girl) and say-so "we aren't going to hurt each other, are we?" Very effective...
If you are looking for affordable dental exactness, head for Mexico..every other storefront is a dentist (Tijuana) and the savings will more than salary for your journey.
Answers:    cavity are like rat holes. The opening will be incredibly small but the inside will be large. Usually dentist do filling to prevent corrosion. The pits & fishers are very deep & they allow food to lodge within them & normal brushing do not clean them, after that causeing decay. Go a good reputed dentist, most are gready associates.
LMAO..."rape my teeth"!! I agree with you!! If it isn't hurting, don't tolerate them fix it! :-) You need to find a dentist you can trust. I don't believe dentists just drill into teeth w/out idea. You entail to feel comfortable and trusting in the dental professional you call in.maybe get a counsel from a trusted friend, but it is also fine to check your states dental board website for complaints about who you may be interested in seeing.

Many cavity do not cause pain, and if you defer treatment of a cavity you put the tooth at risk of need a root canal, as when the decay reach the pulp of the tooth, it 'dies' and the remaining nerve needs to be treated, so the rest of the tooth can be restored, and this can become the expensive part of the pack of the treatment.

You need to be a partner in your strength care, and it is fair to ask question and get a second opinion.but you involve to have a level of trust first..Most Dentists are not 'fraudulent jerks', and you have need of to keep searching to find one you can trust...
It is fortunate you enjoy not had further problems with the tooth, but as we age more problems tend to appear, and regular dental visit are the 'insurance' to help catch them while they are small and in the past they become much more involved and expensive issues...
