Impetigo? Please give a hand?

About 2 months ago I started with this really painful cold sore. My doctor just this minute diagnosed it as impetigo. He prescribed a bunch of things but none work! Are there any ways to get rid of the dumb entry?
Wash face thoroughly near soap and water. Use witch hazel on the rest of your face. Where the impetigo blemishes are, use rubbing alcohol. Yes, it will burn. Put on the rub your doctor gave you for it.

This only get worse the longer it is there and is horribly contagious! It takes time to go and get rid of. It won't go away instantly. It will take at lowest 2 months.

You have to treat the lesions something like 3 to 4 times a day for good results.
Impetigo is not serious, recurrently goes away on its own, and is easy to treat. Mild cases can be handle by gentle cleansing, removing crusts, and applying the prescription-strength antibiotic ointment mupirocin (Bactroban). More severe or extensive cases, especially of bullous impetigo, may require oral antibiotic medication for impetigo. In recent years, more staph germs have developed resistance to standard antibiotics. Bacterial culture tests can give a hand guide the use of proper oral therapy if needed.

Answers:    Try peroxide it will take the infection out then rubbing alcohol it will dry it up after neosporin. I put all of this on everything then when it is on the road to recovery put Hydrocortisone 1% Cream on it (its an anti-itch cream) it has a steroid in it, it will aid it heal. I had a over-hasty dry skin thing on my face and the doctor told me roughly speaking the Hydrocortisone cream it helps, I put it on my face after showers every daytime NO DRY SKIN. :>)
Hope this helps.

I don't know if that will cure it but it sounds like it would be worth a try.
I would move about back to your doctor and ask him/her these questions. I have this as a child on my leg and it responded well to antibiotics both oral and topical which were prescribed.
