Sore throat . intricate to swallow, bumps on the support of my tongue... is this majority?

I can't shake a sore throat i have, that makes swallowing hurt. I haven't gone to the doctor, because I surface fine, I don't feel sick... but my throat hurts, not the kind of hurt where on earth you don't want to drink milk... it just plain hurts...hurts to swallow etc. I stuck my finger down my mouth out of curiosity ... and it feels bumpy. Is that commonplace?
