Does age effect the breathing rate?

Answers:    Yes, age does affect breathing rate. Younger people (like babies, toddlers, young-looking children) breathe faster because they need to provide their body with plenty of oxygen, and their lungs enjoy a lower capacity. Older children don't need to breathe that rapid because their lungs are larger and can hold more oxygen per breath..
old ppl need oxygen tank
old ppl cannot run as far or for longer
as u get elder the heart becomes weaker, doesn't pump as much blood as it did. heartrate and breathing decrease
