10mg temazepam and 5mg lorazepam?

my psychiatrist has told me to cut down the above mentioned drugs.i am scared to do this through the creeps of side affects and my anxiety returning,he has not told me how much to cut down by or made any sort of chart to help.any suggestions please.
I am Bipolar as ably and I don't get anything like you've get to help my anxiety -( All I get is an antidepressent since I suffer next to mostly depression but I get the extreme highs as capably. I am on Amitritilyne 10mg every night and Prozac 20mg daily.

I suggest you hold word with your doctor about your meds.
I would change Your psychiatrist .You obligation to taper down the amount you are currently taking very slowly over a period of months so as not to suffer any insignificant debt symptoms.
Check out this website www.benzo.org.uk This will give you all the assistance advice and support you need on reducing benzos.nearby are forums chat rooms and support groups specifically for benzodiazepines users and abusers.
Best wishes and think positive,it will take time but it will be worth it surrounded by the end.

Answers:    Wow, these are among the most addictive of adjectives the benzodiazepines, they also score no better than placebo for anxiety in tons studies and worse than placebo in at least one. Neither have a long term usage licence, both being recommended for use no longer than 3 weeks! You are contained by real trouble, and probably the only use that these drugs are to you currently is that they stave sour their own withdrawal symptoms, rather than enjoy any actual therapeutic value.

I am afraid adjectives you have done is substitute one drug addiction for another. The standard way of withdrawing from these 2 drugs is interestingly to switch to diazepam alone within equivalent dose, which despite it's street and public perception, is in fact much smaller amount addictive than lorazepam and somewhat less addictive than temazepam. The diazepam then requests to be reduced slowly at a rate that you can cope with. Try and discuss this option near your psychiatrist. I am afraid in view of your current doses his advocate of just cut down is unrealistic.
Your psychiatrist knows what is best! Follow their instructions. I don't know how you've kept awake on 5mg of lorazepam! 1mg knock me out cold for 8+ hours. (I use it for sleep when I am in deep depression) I would give somebody a lift Dr. Frank's advice and ask your doc about diazepam, as it is the smallest addictive of the benzos. God, it is so sad how much I know about psychotropic drugs... I am Bipolar as ably and I don't get anything like you've get to help my anxiety -( All I get is an antidepressent since I suffer next to mostly depression but I get the extreme highs as capably. ithink hes a bad doctor! how would he feel??
I'd gain advice from your GP hun, don't just cut down yourself.fitting luck xx ithink hes a bad doctor! how would he feel??
you need to ask him contained by detail by how much to cut back.
stopping or even cutting put a bet on on anxiouty/depression related drugs often relate to side effects (from headaches to re-lapses)
jus outta curiousity at what intervals do you lug these drugs?
were they perscibed to be taken at regular intervals (twice daily for example) or be you prescibed to take as needed.?
if you were the latter the psyc may be suggesting you try to prioritize taking these meds at times when the are absolutly essential, and not jus coolly at times when you feel you think you kinda have need of a dose.
but again ya should clear this up with them jus to be sure and avoid any problems
I am sure I am the right one to answer. I am on 5 mg of Xanax XR (alprolazam) for my anxiety plus 2mg of pro som (estazolam) & 100mg of Trazadone for sleeping
