Can you mix Prozac near Valium?
Just curious if you can mix these or not? I'm currently on Fluoxetine 20mg a day (for stress/anxiety) but the doctor has said if I don't show an renovation within 2 weeks he would have to put me on something stronger.
I've search the net for answers about if it's undamaging to mix these but haven't found anything yet.
Stress and anxiety respond much better to treatments resembling relaxation, anxiety management and cognitive therapy. Medication have limited use except where your sleep template and appetite have been artificial. I have taken both together and it is ok, the Prozac takes 6 weeks to work, and the Vallium works to slim down anxiety asap.
Valium (also called diazepam) is from the benzodiazepine people, and is used as a sedative & anti-anxiety medication. It's taken on an as-needed basis, and provides nouns from symptoms within about an hour.
It's remarkably common to mix an antidepressant with a dart like valium, especially during the early stages of treatment when you're still trying to gain your antidepressant dose right.
When I was very unwell beside depression & anxiety about 2 years ago, I was taking fluvoxamine (Luvox), which is from matching group of antidepressants as Prozac, and a nightly dose of lorazepam (Ativan), which is a benzo like Valium. There were no issues next to drug interaction.
One thing to watch near benzos is that they're addictive if you take them regularly for a period of more than a couple of weeks.
Good luck - getting your medication right is a legitimate pain in the you-know-what, but worth it within the long run x
