How can you prove medically that one is alcoholic?

I was labeled an alcoholic after I got a DUI at 19. I have drank between the ages of 18 and 19 on and off. Maybe 10 times all together.

I quit completely when I get my DUI. In rehab they told me I had the disease of alcoholism and I would crave alcohol for the rest of my life.

I don't crave alcohol! Is in that some time of medical test I could take to wrapping up this once and for all? Don't alcoholics have liver reduce to rubble or some time of damage?

I feel so completely strong. I want to prove to them that I dont' have this disease. The AA people hold calling me every day asking when I will start my sobriety. I havne't had a drink surrounded by 2 years!

How can I end this once and for all and prove that I am not diseased?
Wow, that sounds importantly annoying!!
I would tell them straight up " I don't drink anymore!"
If you don't than you have nil to prove to anyone. I know these things can be court ordered and all that. But as long as you know you aren't an alcoholic thats all that matter! :D
I think its admirable that you don't drink btw!
There isn't a medical exam to ''prove'' alcoholism. The proof is in the inability to control drinking and having it consume your thoughts adjectives the time. You can be a 'dry drunk'. That is when you dont' drink but thinking about alcohol and not drinking it takes up a great deal of time and energy in your enthusiasm.
If you don't drink, and dont' think about it, and can will it alone, then great. But if you are at risk for another DUI i'd leave it alone! Wow, that sounds importantly annoying!!

Answers:    Do AA population really call you every day asking you this? I enjoy known of some bizarre stuff in AA but this sort of harrying seems extreme, even for them.

Anyway, you've just hit upon one of the more difficult things within life: the impossibility of proving a negative.
You're not an alcoholic. You don't crave it. Ask yourself if you can be implicit it without craving it. Has it affected your or someone elses enthusiasm. If not, you're OK. "You are an addict when you say you are"
(excerpt from the uncomplicated text of narcotics anonymous).

I believe that the big book of AA has a similar quote, but I am not sure!

Anyway, the only person that can definitively sticky label you as an alcolholic, addict, thief, horse rustler, etc is you! If you do not be aware of you have a problem/issue with something, afterwards you do not qualify as such!

AA does have an empirical test of sorts (paraphrased from their big book). ' if any man/person feel that they truly do not have a problem with drink-let them jump to a favored watering hole and order one or two drinks then stop! If they can amble away from the bar and honestly have no nouns to drink more-then they may not be a true alcoholic!'

Health? Alcolholics come from all walks of existence! many do quit drinking long before they hold done any percieveable damage to major organs. I used to assume that only skid row bums were alcolholics, consult about a warped sense of actuality,.
